MIKA AIMI PHOTO EXHIBITION “STREET INSTINCT”

With the series Street Instinct, Mika Aim invites the viewer to join him on everyday photographic wanderings through the urban jungle. His aim is to uncover the poetry hidden in the ordinary and repetitive collisions with the city — in the dull, mundane trajectories trodden daily by millions upon millions of people, all those whose faces we have already forgotten by the end of the ride.

In the end, nothing is merely ordinary: poetry exists everywhere, and wonder for the world around us is ours to choose. It is in these fleeting moments of revelation that Mika Aim’s works come alive. Raw, instinctive, and direct, his photography remains deeply human, constantly searching for a gift of poetic realism. This realism emerges from the paths we have walked — surfacing in every instant and every breath our home city offers us.

Aim refuses posing, avoids chasing images or leaving behind an artificial impression. Instead, he lets himself be carried away by the rhythm of the city, showing that poetry, joy, and wonder can exist even within the noise and vitality of a universal city like Paris.

The exhibition is part of the international Month of Francophonie program and is organized by the French Institute.
